Assets

Is it possible to have a location’s room numbers as possible storage locations? We don’t have a warehouse or designated storage locations except for some closets, shelves, and cabinets. I’d like to be able to select a specific room for the storage location rather than typing in a blank field. 

For some reason IIQ is absolutely butchering the image uploaded to a model. I’ve tried a variety of dimensions and cropping them differently, but the image preview keeps coming out nearly unrecognizable (see example below with Securly Classroom/Filter). Is there any officially recommended image format or dimensions to stop this from happening? 

My Google Device general settings that set asset status are:I have a rule when a device has a ticket submitted for a ‘broken’ issue, the device status is changed to ‘Broken’. However, the day after, the device status is changed back to ‘In Service’. Google Devices is doing it:I want device data from Google to sync to IIQ when there are changes such as an OU move, a new user, last login date, last sync, etc. That is why I selected the ‘Update Asset” checkbox. Will unchecking that box prevent those data elements from syncing to IIQ?Obviously, it’s one of the ‘update’ checkboxes overwriting the device status, but I’m not sure which one.I’ve always been confused around the ‘Update status with every sync’ checkbox. Can anyone explain this option? Updating data with every sync is what it should be doing. What happens when this is unchecked?

Is there a difference between editing an asset and clicking “Unassign” under owner versus going to “Assets” → “Check In / Out”?

Is there a way to see, in an individual Asset’s view, what Asset Groups they belong to? For example, if I make a group for a Rooms’ Chromebooks in a cart, when I select an individual device, it shows me that one device is in the group.  

Is there a method available to visually assess which assets are allocated to specific rooms? 

Is anyone else having issue adding image to added models. I added a number of models for our environment and want to start adding images to them.  I noticed two things It is allowing me to add the image but when I hit the Save button. It does not do anything. It is allowing me to add the image but the Save button is disabled. There is no issue when I am adding the image while adding the model. Thanks in advance

Hello, curious if there is a way other districts handle this.I have an audit setup for our checked out 1:1 student Chromebooks that looks for most recent user matching owner. The trouble being, when a student changes their name they get get a new email address to match the new name and their old email becomes an alias in Google (it still is all under the same profile in Google technically). This means IIQ now has a new email for them in their profile.The issue I am seeing is the audit fails because it still sees them using their old email as most recent user (which IIQ does not tie into the existing profile that now has a new email).Outside of having students remove old profiles from a ChromeBook and sign in under their new primary email are there any other solutions?

We are starting our migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on devices.   We have created Views of the laptops eligible for the upgrade for a building and want to also filter by the OS version.  Currently we import Windows devices with SCCM integration (Windows 10) and will be integrating with Intune when they are upgraded to Windows 11.   the SCCM app pulls in the “OperatingSystem: Microsoft Windows 10 Education" but I can’t seem to map it to a custom field or use that as an attribute to filter views by.   I’m workking with IIQ ssupport to see what is possible.  Does anyone else filter Windows devices by Operating system? 

so right now you can add parts used to a ticket and this will take the part out of inventory.  was wondering if this is the best way to do this if lets say your repair needs multiple parts and is not currently being worked on and you may need to order other parts.  So I need a bottom cover, system board and battery for a Chromebook.  I have the bottom cover and system board but need the battery.  I would like to have my inventory reflect that i have the bottom cover and system board assigned to this ticket but waiting for the battery.  If I add them as parts used it does this but technically if I haven’t replaced those parts yet is there any other way to “assign them” to the ticket so my inventory reflects that I don’t have that number available.  so if I have 10 system boards but 1 is assigned to a ticket I truly only have 9 available.  hope I explained that correctly.

What is the best way to know what assets were not returned at certain point? For example, right now, I’d like to know what assets that were checked out last school year to a student, were not returned as of today.Also, if I look at the Timeline of a specific asset, I can see when that asset was assigned to a user, but I have not found a way to include that information as a Column or in an Export. Is that possible?

I need to produce a report or create a dashboard showing the number of students per class and the number of assets per room, for all my elementrary school classes.  The Chromebooks in our elementary schools are cart based, and I need to make sure that we have enough devices in each classroom cart for testing.  If I look up a teacher and click on the class, I see the number of students and number of assets assigned to the room listed on the tab.  Is there a way to create a dashboard, report, or view that shows me a list of teachers, the number of students and the number of assets in their room? 

We are currently in the process of building out iiQ and have run into a snag with spare pool. Currently we give out 2 types of loaners; daily (for students who forgot their chromebook) and extended (for damages/repairs). The system we are using now allows our staff to quickly assign daily loaners by scanning the student barcode and the asset barcode and with email the student daily to remind them to return the device if they have not done so. We are running into an issue setting it up this way in iiQ without having to create tickets for these daily loaners.  Does anyone have any insight into how we can make this a quick process for staff to assign loaners and have rules set to auto email students?

I have a teacher who is wanting me to give her list of devices in her testing carts and the only indicator of these specific devices is in the annotation notes.  Is there a way to search for devices using this?   

I have a group of laptops of different models that we use as electronic hall pass kiosks.  I thought I’d create an asset group but the models are not the same.  They only share location and their purpose as kiosks.  How can I group them so I can view them all?  Thank you.

How do I move model categories to a new category? I can move some but not all. I assume the ones I can move are the models I created for mapping.

Hello,I’m looking for documentation, knowledgebase and/or instructions regarding the SFTP option in the Export tab of the View Designer as I can’t seem to find anything regarding it.My goal is to export views from iiQ into our SFTP server in order to access within our database. I’d like to confirm that I’ve set up our credentials properly and also have an actual time as to when the view exports each day.Ideally, I’d like to be able to set the SFTP export schedule myself, but it would at least be helpful to know when the export happens instead of just “each day”.I’ve included a screenshot for reference. If there is any other information regarding the SFTP Export, I’d be happy to receive that.Thank You,Jessica

Hello, We currently have Teaching staff setup to view assets only assigned to students that are rostered to their classes/classrooms.  They have resently come across some issues checking devices that are left around the classroom that are not assied to their rostered students so they cannot see the device/s.     Is there a way in the Asset Explorer permissions to give them access to say all chromebooks at their assigned location only and not see other assets that are in the Asset Explorer? Thank you.Jason

Is it possible to send emails on a schedule where users with devices checked out to them receive an email with a list of all the devices they have checked out?  I don’t want to spam teachers with 30+ individual emails, 1 for each device they have checked out.

Asset still shows previous user as the owner of the device even after it has synced with Jamf. All info is entered and correct in Jamf. How do I make it so Incident IQ updates the device owner as well?

Is it possible to search by Specific Location?

I want to use IIQ for our Federal and State Inventory, which we conduct twice a year.  I would like it to be very similar to the Destiny Library Manager program. We have thousands of items to account for. I want to be able to scan each item consecutively and have the item marked as "Accounted For" to confirm what's physically in the building. For reconciling and addressing discrepancies, I would also need to be able to run reports for everything scanned, so that any missing items can be flagged for replacement, written off, or left pending in case they are found later.

Is there a way to send comments to the person you are asking to approve a ticket?  Or do they have to be agents to read the whole ticket? !--a=1-->

I tried to do a search on this and couldn’t find an answer.If I pin my rooms on the Interactive Map, would assets which are already located in that Room be pinned automatically or do I have to pin each asset to the room manually even though the asset has an assigned Room already?That was my initial request during the first stages of the Maps planning with IIQ team.

When filtering tickets, is there a way to granularly list an assets location in a column?  For example, I dont want to know just what building it is, I want to be able to list the room as well.  When I bring devices back to our tech department for repair, we put them in a specific room in the tech department.  I wish I could see that in a ticket list.  I would like to be able to see if an asset is here at the tech department at a glance in a ticket list.  If the asset has a balance, I can list that so that I can look at that at a glance.
