I have already submitted a ticket for this, but wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this.  I went to change a location today and when I did, several of our data fields automatically disappeared.  This triggered me to look at other devices recently updated (like within the last 2 weeks) and it is all of them.  Data is disappearing from our asset page when we update location.  I did not test to see if updating any other field caused the same result.  Anyone else noticing this, or maybe needs to notice this so your data doesnt get lost.   

We are syncing assets with Mosyle and FileWave. We have set a default location for new items to be in "provisioned" location.  However we have many things that stay in that provisioned location even when we move them to a different location. I will move the tags during the day to a specific school location but that night it syncs with Mosyle or FileWave changes it back to provisioned.  There is not a specific user assigned to these devices as they are Computer labs or shared use iPads and a few other things.  Can you help me figure out how to have these items come over from Mosyle and FileWave but then have them stay in the location we move them to even if there is not a user assigned to that particular device/item?  For Mosyle we have set automatically update owner in IIQ based on user id in Mosyle and we haveFor Filewave we have checked the box to map by Owner’s location (Assign asset to location in IIQ based on owners location and map by location name checked

How do you adjust the current price of parts in Inventory ? I set up inventory and had to use best guess on a few items but finally got the exact pricing. Do i need to delete and start over or is there a way to adjust just the price ?

Historically we have stored student laptops in a locked room over the summer in stacks of 10.  With the ability to assign an asset to a storage container and a slot we would like to give that a try this summer.  For those that are doing this what storage containers are you using?  How well are they holding up year to year?

Is there anyway to have a device move to the homeroom of the student it is assigned to? Trying to avoid having our techs manually move everything into the kids classrooms

Is there a way through the asset importer, or another method, to mass link assets?We have 900 iPads that each have their own case that we want to link to each other. So it would be a 1:1 link for each iPad.

Is it possible to add a “Set device status in Google” rule action to an On Schedule triggered asset rule? I’m not seeing it as an option. It only gives the option to change the asset status.I’m looking at creating a rule that automatically disables our unreturned loaner Chromebooks at a certain time after school lets out. I was hoping that a Google status rule action would exist in the on schedule triggered rules just as it does for all the other trigger types. 

We’re thinking through how me might use IIQ to track licenses that are assigned to assets. We could create an asset model that represents the software and specific assets that represent individual licenses, then assign to a user if appropriate but not sure about assigning to a device. I see an feature suggestion around this but short of specific functionality being added in the future, has anyone handled this in IIQ using existing functionality?

We have several different types of devices (keyboards, Docking Stations, monitors) that don’t cost enough to assign Asset Tags and some items don’t even have Serial Numbers, but we want to track how many we have on hand and where they went.  I thought about using Parts, but haven’t found where I’d be able to assign them without a ticket and we don’t want to create a ticket for each Docking Station we send out (especially on our initial distribution).Is there a way this can be done in IIQ that I’ve missed?

We have all of our projectors except one model in a model category called Projectors. The one exception is in a category called Overhead Projectors. How can I change the category for the exception model so that it is in the category called Projectors?

I have written a small program that does some things for me. I use this (for example) as a way to query an asset by its serial number: {  "Filters":[    {"Facet": "AssetSerialNumber","Value": "value"}  ]} That works great. But I now want to search using the Notes field. I’ve tried Facet being Notes and AssetNotes but neither work. I’d like to know how to search based on the value in the Notes field.  Also, it’d be nice to know if there is a find all AssetSerialNumbers starting (or ending) with a value. That’d be super helpful too but is not required.

I would like to pre-create storage units for future use without having to add assets right away. Or copy and edit existing storage units to retain the information I want and change what I need to. 

I submitted this feature request a while back, with the intent of hiding “secret” fields:  However, I realized I also want the opposite. Today, I have custom fields for Assets that mark whether the asset is a loaner, or a classroom spare. It’s a simple Y/N toggle. With Permissions v2, I have a subset of Faculty / Teachers who can view assets at their site. They are not Agents. Is there an option in iiQ that would allow users to schedule to sign out assets? We have a computer cart that teachers can sign out to use for their class periods. It would be good to have them do it in iIQ since they are already in here for tickets but I don’t know that the functionality exists.

We have a category called “Chromebooks” and when I go in and update an issue to categories, I select from the dropdown Update category and overwrite models to match category. It seems to have updated one of the models within the Chromebook category but not the other models. Any suggestions

We have duplicate assets that have been imported with the same serial number, but the asset tag number is different. How can we stop this from happening? Besides the obvious of letting 30 other techs know not to do this, I would like a solution that states this is a duplicate asset and to not create. See photo for example. 

Our administration office has reached out to us and asked if we would be able to pull some information for them that lets us see who our most frequent flyers are.I am looking for a way to filter the asset list by number of tickets that have been submitted for that asset. In doing so we can determine which of our students have brought their chromebooks to us the most.Is there an elegant way to do this? I took a look through the columns available in the view builder and the filters and did not see anything.

I would like to see a way to be able to share custom views with users who are not agents. For example I I have a list of all the student devices on my campus with their assigned students.  I would like to be able to share that list to the campus secretary without having them set as an agent in Incident IQ. Currently I am not sure how to do this. I have played with the permission settings but I havent found a solution yet. Any Ideas? TIA

Is there a way to scan the barcode on the back of a book (ISBN) and load it into IIQ?

In the Microsoft app you can check a box, under General settings>mapping> that says,  The question is what happens to the device if you do not check that box? In iiQ is the device’s status changed? If so, to what? Or, is the device just ignored by iiQ? Will the sync history indicate the device wasn’t found in Microsoft? Are there any rules we can setup to set status or send an alert to the technicians if the device is not found in Microsoft SCCM? 

TL;DRThis is a long post and I’m infodumping to provide context for the problems I’m facing. I’m working with a particularly thorny migration problem from Aeries Devices to IncidentIQ, and looking for ideas or feedback on how I might improve the process of managing student accountability with Chromebooks for our Device Wrangler staff.The SetupDevice Wranglers are not IT folk. Most of them are Secretaries or Librarians. Usually there is only one per school site. They don’t have backup. Training is possible but ease of use, speed and simplicity is paramount.Previously, our Device Wranglers would use Aeries Devices to manage student Chromebooks. When devices were checked in, they could make notes on the asset. Aeries automatically links all previous assets to a student record, so that a Device Wrangler could see the history of the student and their devices. This was helpful in identifying “frequent fliers;” students that would break or lose their device

I entered about 26 devices in a spare pool. I can see the number of devices but when I click on it, it says No device meets the criteria. I can’t delete the pool because there are devices in it. Does anyone have suggestions - I cleared the cache, different browser, restarted the computer, and refreshed the web page

We are exploring asset management systems that provide more accurate, real-time usage and geolocation data than what the Google Admin Console currently offers. We are a 1:1 school district with only our junior high and high school students taking a device home. Currently, we don’t have a way to view where a device is located or who is using it in real-time. I would like to be able to look up a device and see who is using it at that exact moment and where it’s currently located, both on and off our network. These are the two most desired features we’re looking for in an asset management system.  Does anyone use a system that they would recommend? 

How do I change the required fields for the import asset option in IIQ? I am an administrator, but I do not see how to change the required fields to import assets.
